Band can be such a blast sometimes.
I knew today was going to be good because I walked in and saw Tom in this hideous sweatshirt that made him look like a jailbreak. I made fun of him.
*side note: Tom is a drummer in this rad band called Set on Site myspace.com/setonsiteband (check them out!)
Anyway, that was my sign today would be good.
A few weeks ago we found red streamers in old lockers in the band room.
We both decided that save them for the perfect day to use them somehow.
Today was that day.
Tom got them out of our hiding place and starting wrapping himself head-to-toe.
He couldn't finish so I helped running around wrapping him.
Meanwhile, the rest of the band is in the middle of playing our Beatles medley.
Then we both ducked seeing that Mr.Osborn (our band teacher) looked at us.
So we're like on the ground still wrapping Tom up.
Then all of a sudden we finish the song and Mr.Osborn comes back to us in our section and Tom and I think that he's coming for us.
So Tom darts to the ground trying to rip off everything as fast as possible crawling across the ground as far as he can and everyone in the section is trying to rip it off.
Then Mr.Osborn points to the chart that tells us what instruments to play and says "Farris, you're supposed to be playing crash cymbals. Oh, and Tom, stop playing with that sex toy."
The entire band started laughing and Tom had to go throw it all out.
Ohmyword, funniest thing ever.
Highlight of my day.
THAT is the reason I'm doing band again next year.
THAT is what makes my day awesome.
THAT is what makes me glad I play percussion.
THAT is what makes me realize how much fun we have.
THAT is why Tom is the only kid I really talk to in band, aside from Matt (who has mono D:), and sometimes Farris.
